Former South African President Nelson Mandela criticized President Bush for the U.S.-led war in Iraq and praised French President Jacques Chirac for refusing to participate.
The 84-year-old statesman reiterated his previous criticism of Bush, who is scheduled to visit South Africa in July.
Asked if he would convey his views to Bush, Mandela replied: “You assume that he’s going to meet me. I wouldn’t make that assumption.”
