Congestion Suggestion

Share

What a sad chronicle of our state’s sagging infrastructure. Although I have to endure a small, seven-mile commute from the mid-Wilshire area to Santa Monica, it can take me up to an hour, like the couple in “Road Savvy: A Connoisseur’s Commute” (Feb. 24). I’ve tried it all: automobile on the 10 Freeway and Olympic Boulevard, Metro Rapid buses up the Wilshire corridor -- it’s utter, mind-numbing congestion.

So when is this great state of ours going to wake up and collectively tie development not into just providing jobs but providing some highway and transit improvements? It’s time we stop letting the developers off the hook for these basic necessities.
