Handicappers who prefer a sharp claimer stepping up in class will like Royal Classic Cat in tonight's seventh.
Owned and trained by Adan Farias, the 4-year-old A Classic Dash mare has won three in a row while moving up the ladder and she'll try to keep the streak going as she jumps to the $20,000 claiming level in the 220-yard race.
Taken by Farias for $2,500 out of her win on Dec. 1, Royal Classic Cat beat $4,000 claimers by two lengths on Dec. 26, then won by a half-length against $10,000 stock on Jan. 24.
None of the other four fillies and mares in the field is coming off a win.
The picks: 1. Think Mile. 2. Northern Sleet. 3. Pastures New. 4. Campaign For Royalty. 5. Mystical Sign. 6. Yurmans Secret. 7. Royal Classic Cat. 8. Toute De Suite. 9. Royal Juno Bug.
Four! Use Think Mile and Cal Bred Prince in the first, Northern Sleet and Fuddy Buddy in the second, single the Virnima-Pastures New entry in the third and Campaign For Royalty and No Mas Delor in the fourth.
Shots in the dark: The Dixie Express had some trouble in his return and could improve in the sixth. Cs Crimson Tide gets a positive post change in the eighth.
