From Times Staff Reports

A Los Angeles man was arrested at his home Thursday on suspicion of attempting to create an anthrax scare by mailing ominous envelopes to a school, police agencies, banks and corporations over the last month.

Los Angeles Police Department detectives said Stanley Chester Jaroszenski Jr. sent one of the envelopes to Norwood Elementary School.

They said the manila envelope, with the words "Anthrax per Asian News channel," did not contain any chemical agents.
