F-15C Pilot Safely Ejects After Midair Collision
A military jet from Nellis Air Force Base crashed after a midair collision while training over the Nevada desert, but the pilot ejected safely, authorities said.
The pilot, who suffered minor bruises, was rescued by helicopter and returned to the base near Las Vegas after his F-15C Eagle crashed, an official said.
The pilot of a second F-15C flew safely back to the base after the collision, base officials said.
The pilots’ identities were not immediately made available, and an internal Air Force investigation has begun.
