2 in Illegal Street Race to Be Tried in 2 Deaths

Two college students who were driving in an illegal street race that killed two people have been ordered to stand trial on charges of gross vehicular manslaughter.
Kimberley Latlip and Daniel Proa Jr. also will face charges of reckless driving in connection with the April 2002 crash.
Two passengers in Proa’s car, Angel Casillas Gomez, 19, and Erik Antonio Vargas, 18, were killed. Three people in a van struck by Proa’s car, including two children, were injured, as was the driver of a pickup that was hit by the van.
