Parolee Gets 4 Years for Beating Girlfriend

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Arthur Jean has sentenced a convicted felon with alleged ties to organized crime to four years in state prison for beating his live-in girlfriend, authorities said Monday.
Dominic Montemarano, 64, a reputed New York mobster, was convicted of beating, bruising and biting Nancy Ponce de Leon in their Wilmington home on Oct. 3, 2001.
Montemarano had served more than 10 years in federal prison for racketeering and was on parole, said prosecutor Erwin Petilos.
