Gov. Gray Davis appointed Oakland attorney Liane Randolph on Tuesday to head the state Fair Political Practices Commission, which regulates campaign contributions, lobbying and financial disclosure for public officials.
Randolph, 37, is a principal at Meyers, Nave, Riback, Silver & Wilson, where she has worked since 1997. Previously, she was staff counsel for the ethics panel, specializing in conflict-of-interest issues.
Randolph replaces Karen Getman, whose term expired Jan. 31, and will be paid $117,818.
