Alarm Firms Sue City Over New Police Policy

An association of Los Angeles alarm companies filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the city to prevent the implementation of a new Police Department policy that would end police response to unverified burglar alarms.
The suit seeks a permanent injunction against the policy, claiming that the rule would violate state law and that the Police Commission did not have the authority to approve the order.
