Man Gets 26 Years to Life for Killing His Wife
A Navy petty officer who was convicted of murder for stabbing his wife 230 times with an awl has been sentenced to 26 years to life in prison.
Brandon Norris, 23, did not speak at his sentencing hearing Thursday. He told a probation officer that he regretted killing his wife, Lori, and still cannot explain what made him snap when he attacked her on Jan. 10, 2002.
During his trial, Norris testified that both he and his wife, also a Navy petty officer, had been having affairs. Shortly before the killing, each had agreed to stop seeing other people and work on rebuilding their marriage, he said. But Lori Norris then went out with her boyfriend and stayed overnight with him.
The next morning, Norris confronted her as she left the boyfriend’s apartment and killed her inside her car, police said.
