I, Caligula
What a delightful surprise to read such extravagant praise for a performance I gave as Caligula in “The Robe” and “Demetrius and the Gladiators” 50 years ago (Letters, March 16).
I am in the best of health and will soon be 73 years old. I had my 23rd birthday on the set of “The Robe” at 20th Century Fox.
It is good to be so fondly remembered for a role I played in my salad days when I was, as Shakespeare put it, “green in judgment, cold in blood.”
