An Aug. 18 trial date has been scheduled for a woman accused of aiding two skinhead gang members in the slaying of a teenage girl at a Ventura motel four years ago.

Bridget Callahan was convicted in November of first-degree murder with special circumstances for her role in the 1998 slaying of 17-year-old Nichole Hendrix.

However, last month a Ventura County Superior Court judge dismissed the conviction and granted the 31-year-old Callahan a new trial on the murder charge.

The judge ruled that her defense attorney failed to competently represent her.
