“This is not an obsession.

I started this as a hobby,” insists Allan Ellenberger, North Hollywood resident and author of “Celebrities in Los Angeles Cemeteries” (McFarland & Co.).

The directory lists resting places for hundreds of some-bodies, along

with obit headlines and appendices such as “Sea Burials, Cremations and Donations to Science.” Here’s where a few of the bodies are buried.

Resting place since 1899 to many early Hollywood luminaries. Monuments and headstones abound. Notable recent arrival, Ellenberger says: Punk rock trailblazer Dee Dee Ramone.
