Fresno Defense Lawyer to Head State Bar

A Fresno defense attorney active in Democratic politics has been elected president of the State Bar of California, the regulatory agency for the state’s 190,000 lawyers.
Anthony P. Capozzi was elected Saturday, and will be sworn in at the bar’s annual meeting in September, according to a statement from the agency.
Capozzi, 57, was active in Gov. Gray Davis’ campaigns in the Central Valley and has been a member of the Democratic National Committee.
