A man angry because his wife was leaving him pleaded guilty Wednesday to killing her outside a post office last summer.

After two days of trial testimony, Daniel Ruben Sada, 54, of Granada Hills entered a plea to second-degree murder in Van Nuys Superior Court.

Witnesses testified that they saw Sada stab, beat and run over Sophie Jennie Rodriguez with his van July 5 in the 18700 block of Philiprimm Street in Tarzana, Deputy Dist. Atty. Kenneth Loveman said. The 38-year-old woman died the next day.

Judge Barry Taylor set June 6 for sentencing of Sada, who faces 15 years to life in prison.

The couple had one child, and Sada had no history of spouse abuse, Loveman said.
