General Motors Corp. may have about 400,000 of its Cadillac and Oldsmobile cars investigated, and possibly recalled, for fuel leaks, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.

The agency is requesting information from GM after getting 69 complaints about 1995 to 1997 Cadillac DeVilles, Sevilles and Eldorados and Oldsmobile Auroras. Some complaints described fuel spraying from small holes in plastic sections of the fuel system, the agency said.

The complaints included six fires and one injury, an agency spokesman said.

“We’re cooperating fully,” a GM spokesman said.

GM shares rose 23 cents to $42.90 on the NYSE.
