Disbarred Ex-Attorney Is Convicted of Grand Theft
From Times Wire Reports
A disbarred former criminal defense attorney has been found guilty of grand theft for accepting $10,000 from a client days before he was suspended from practicing law.
Jeffery Harbin, 42, could face up to three years in prison when he is sentenced in December.
A jury convicted him Friday of theft for taking the retainer fee to represent a 14-year-old boy facing criminal charges in Juvenile Court shortly before he was suspended by the State Bar in October 2001.
