‘Let It Be’ cued up for play, discussion

“Arrow 93” listeners can hear the world premiere of the Beatles’ reworked “Let It Be” album tonight and query panelists during a call-in show afterward, when KCBS-FM (93.1) joins with 34 sister stations around the country to debut the disc before its release next week.

“Let It Be Naked” is the no-frills version of the last album the band released, stripped of the lush studio production added by “wall of sound” creator Phil Spector in 1969. Infinity Radio, parent company of KCBS and 184 other stations in the U.S., has joined with Apple Corps Ltd., the Beatles’ corporate identity, to air the album simultaneously nationwide.

The broadcast, hosted by entertainment reporter Pat O’Brien, begins at 7 p.m. on KCBS, and will be followed by a one-hour discussion by a panel that will include singers Sheryl Crow, Fred Durst and Billy Joel, plus Geraldo Rivera, Rolling Stone senior editor David Fricke and Jimmy Iovine, chairman and chief executive of Interscope/Geffen/A&M; records.
