Santa Ana, Tustin Both Lost in Base Deal

Re "85 Acres, Huge Hangar: A Difficult Gift for O.C.," Nov. 17:

Poor Tustin! So they're still moaning about being forced to pay Santa Ana for taking away the land that had originally been set aside by the government for Santa Ana schools.

It would have been so simple -- let Santa Ana keep the land, and Tustin could keep their money.

And both cities would have been better off.
