Students Arrested for Allegedly Handling Gun
From Times Staff Reports
Three students who allegedly handled a loaded handgun at John Marshall Middle School in Long Beach this week were arrested and could be expelled, school district officials said Wednesday.
One of the students, a 14-year-old boy, allegedly brought the weapon to school on Tuesday. Two 13-year-old classmates handled the gun with the boy, police said.
Other students told a teacher, and police found the gun in a backpack in a closet at the school, said Chris Eftychiou, a spokesman for the district.
