Tollway Merger Audit Pursued

Assemblyman Lou Correa (D-Santa Ana) has called for a state audit of the proposed merger of Orange County’s two toll road agencies.
County transportation leaders are considering a merger to assist the San Joaquin Hills tollway, the turnpike that has posted disappointing revenue and ridership figures. But the Eastern and Foothill toll roads have exceeded projections.
Correa suggested Friday it was unfair for drivers of the more successful roads to bail out the San Joaquin Hills tollway.
