Regarding Joan Kroc (obituary, Oct. 13): My daughter is visiting Brisbane, Australia, grateful for the Ronald McDonald’s house near the hospital where her newborn grandchild is in intensive care with breathing problems. The baby’s family lives out in the bush far from the hospital, and we regret that it’s too late to thank Kroc for her generosity in providing these refuges.
