Signatures to Recall D.A. Are Submitted
From Staff and Wire Reports
Organizers of a drive to recall Humboldt County Dist. Atty. Paul Gallegos, who angered timber industry interests by suing Pacific Lumber Co. in the spring, filed Wednesday what they said are more than enough signatures needed to force a recall vote.
County official Lindsey McWilliams said the recall organization submitted 17,000 signatures; 11,138 are required.
If enough valid signatures are authenticated, the recall election will be held in March.
