From Times Wire Reports

The unofficial record for the world’s biggest pumpkin pie is now in the sticky clutches of this little Wine Country town.

The 6-foot-3-inch-diameter pie was sliced and diced Sunday on the town square, with some 250 slices sold for $1 each and devoured in the first half an hour.

The money benefits Windsor High School’s culinary arts program. “I give it a 10,” said Sharon Burge of Penngrove, who’d gone to Windsor to see and sample the mammoth pie.

The 300-pound monster broke a mark set by Circleville, Ohio, which cooked up a 5-foot-diameter confection some time back, which it features in ads for the community.
