School Budget Cuts

Arianna Huffington urges Proposition 13 changes due to the decline in our education system since its passage (Aug. 28). It is essential that we listen.

At my school, our principal advised us that the district had asked us to cut an additional $25,000 from our paltry little budget. As a result, we will be rationing toilet paper and paper towels this year and, even with rationing, we only have enough to last us until December. Where is our school located, one might wonder. China? India? No, we are in the San Fernando Valley. Shame on us.
