From Bloomberg News

Toshiba Corp., Japan’s biggest notebook computer maker, said it would cut about 200 jobs at its American Information Systems business, as part of a reorganization of the unit.

The cuts, which would take place over six months, would reduce the unit’s workforce to about 1,050 from about 1,250, the Irvine-based division said.

Toshiba American Information Systems is restructuring to focus on the mobility market.

A traditional products division isn’t sufficient to address that market from a sales and marketing perspective, Hidejiro Shimomitsu, the president of the U.S. unit, said.
