China Poised for First Manned Spaceflight

Preparations for China’s first manned spaceflight are on track, a senior science official said this week, but he did not specify the timing of Beijing’s bid to become the third country to put a human into orbit.
Official media have said the launch will take place this year. China has made four test flights of its Shenzhou spacecraft.
