Surgeon Pleads No Contest to Felonies
Former Los Angeles surgeon Jules Mark Lusman, whose medical license was revoked for improperly prescribing drugs to celebrities, pleaded no contest Monday to two felony charges of practicing medicine without a license and grand theft of personal property.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Katherine Mader immediately sentenced Lusman to five years’ probation and ordered him to complete 30 days of community service, pay restitution and refrain from practicing medicine. After he was stripped of his license, authorities say, he continued to practice and injected two women with a drug that the Food and Drug Administration had not approved.
