23 North Korean Defectors Arrive

Twenty-three North Koreans, mostly workers and students, arrived in South Korea after fleeing their isolated communist homeland, Seoul’s National Intelligence Service said.
The defections brought to 403 the total number of North Koreans who have escaped to South Korea this year. Last year, 1,285 fled to the South.
