Detroit Tiger designated hitter Dmitri Young is expected to sit out up to six weeks because of a broken right leg after being injured in Tuesday night’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Young broke a bone in his lower leg when he tried to stop on the way to second base in a failed attempt to avoid a tag by Orlando Hudson in the first inning.

Young appeared to be in severe pain but was able to put weight on the leg as he was helped off.
