WKND FEEDBACK

Too muchness is the whole idea

You know things have changed when a DVD gets slammed for being too inclusive, as if too much value was a bad thing (Video Shelf, April 1). Susan King said my special edition DVD of “Panic Room” suffered from “a bad case of DVD overkill.” I’m curious how she defines the term.

The goal of the enterprise, as with all the discs I’ve produced, was to create a thorough and comprehensive archival record of the film at hand. It’s an impossible goal to meet, but “Panic Room” is certainly the closest I’ve ever come. For fans of this kind of thing, there’s no such thing as overkill.

Twiggy and her smitten beau

Thank you for Howard Leff’s “Single in the City” column (“Seeking: Cute Face, Legs That Won’t Quit,” April 1). I’m an animal rescuer and anything anyone can ever do to help promote adoptions of homeless animals from shelters is always needed!

Auto writer fires on all cylinders

I really appreciate Dan Neil’s writing (“Fantasy, In High Gear,” April 1). It is funny and sometimes strikingly original. The quality of his writing approaches that of the best American prose writers, such as E.B. White.
