Hernandez Has New Deal

Pitcher Livan Hernandez agreed Tuesday to a $21-million, three-year contract extension with the Montreal Expos.
Hernandez was due to make $6 million this season, the final year of his current deal. The extension runs through 2007 and pushes back some of the money he was to have received this year.
In 2003, his first year with the Expos, Hernandez had the best year of his career. He was 15-10 with a 3.20 earned-run average in 33 starts. He led the team in wins, ERA, innings (233 1/3) and complete games (eight).
