Ex-Vivendi Accountant Settles SEC Charges

The former chief accountant at Vivendi Universal agreed to settle fraud charges brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
John Luczycki settled without admitting or denying the SEC’s claims that he helped manipulate pretax earnings in 2001 at the French company.
Vivendi’s accounting scandal cost the firm $50 million in penalties under an SEC settlement in December.
