WITH fuel prices racing to record highs, the Big Bear Lake Resort Assn. is offering visitors a new enticement: a coupon for $25 of free gas.
The special, which lasts through the end of June, requires visitors to spend at least one night at a participating lodge, motel or cabin rental at Big Bear Lake, about 100 miles east of Los Angeles in the San Bernardino Mountains.
“Big Bear is close, and with $25 in free gas, it’s almost a free trip,” said Jamie Wolcott, executive director of the association.
Lodging packages start as low as $69 a night. A $25 Arco gas card is provided at check-in.
