From Times Wire Reports

A Soyuz spacecraft docked with the international space station to deliver a fresh crew, two days after it blasted off from Russia’s Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

Russian commander Gennady Padalka and American flight engineer Michael Fincke will stay for six months to maintain the outpost, whose assembly has been on hold since the U.S. shuttle Columbia broke up on Feb. 1, 2003. Dutch astronaut Andre Kuipers will return to Earth after nine days of experiments for the European Space Agency.
