Mayor James K. Hahn has been criticized by Los Angeles City Council members Tony Cardenas and Wendy Greuel for proposing to use $5.2 million that had been earmarked for business tax reform to cover personnel and other costs as part of his effort to balance the budget.

“Wiping the fund away is inconsistent with the commitment that was made to the business community,” Cardenas said in a letter to Hahn.
