Former “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” co-star Nicholas Brendon said Thursday that he had voluntarily entered a treatment center because of an alcohol problem.

“After realizing that I had a disease that was taking control of my life, I decided that the best way for me to regain my health was to enter a treatment facility,” the 33-year-old actor said. He played the character of Xander Harris on “Buffy” for seven seasons.
