Ford Motor Co. was sued in California over the March 2003 deaths of five people killed when the 15-passenger van they were in rolled over.

The lawsuit filed in Alameda County says Ford knew of the “dangerous propensities” of its Econoline E-350.

Ford spokeswoman Kathleen Vokes said an accident report showed that none of the van’s occupants were wearing seat belts and the driver had been awake for at least 19 hours straight.
