From Times Wire Reports

About 100 jobless tin miners attacked Bolivia’s state mining company headquarters in downtown La Paz with dynamite in the latest episode of unrest in the fragile democracy.

The miners, who have occupied one of the main tin mines for three months, blasted open the front door to seek the release of their jailed leader before police repelled them with tear gas.

About 200 people were in the building at the time, but no injuries were reported. Police said they made no arrests.
