Government Parties End 5-Month Boycott

Rebels and opposition leaders rejoined Ivory Coast’s power-sharing government, ending a five-month boycott that began after the West African nation’s security forces killed more than 100 opposition followers.

Ministers representing loyalists and the opposition convened a Cabinet session with President Laurent Gbagbo.

Insurgent and opposition ministers withdrew from the reconciliation government in March after security forces killed marchers demonstrating against Gbagbo.

A U.N. report said 120 people died in the two days of violence in Abidjan.
