Despite Terror Warning, Copter Tours Continue
From Times Wire Reports
Tourists boarded helicopters for sightseeing tours of the New York area despite an FBI warning that Al Qaeda had considered using tour helicopters in terrorist attacks.
“We’re all here and we’re all together,” said Gisele Dorte of Martinique, who boarded a Liberty Helicopter Tours flight with her family.
Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg dismissed the warning as “nothing new,” saying security at heliports had been tight since terrorists crashed airliners into the World Trade Center in 2001.
