Money Down the Drain
Basically, the Los Angeles City Council is drafting a $500-million bond to pay for cleanup of our street storm water drains because too many people allow garbage and waste to flow into our sewer systems (Aug. 7). If individuals did not throw oils and trash into our gutters, we might not need this bond.
Let’s keep our beaches and waters clean for our children and the wildlife. Put trash where it belongs. Poor, elderly and other concerned citizens will have to pay off a bond to allow others to continue to abuse and pollute our water system.
