Archeologist Says Cave Is a Major Biblical Site

From Times Wire Reports

An archeologist thinks he has found a cave where John the Baptist baptized many of his followers -- basing his team’s theory on thousands of shards from ritual jugs, a stone used for foot cleansing and wall carvings telling John’s story.

The cave at Kibbutz Tzuba in Israel is potentially a major discovery in biblical archeology.

But some scholars said the finds by British archeologist Shimon Gibson aren’t enough to support his theory. One colleague said that short of an inscription with John’s name in the cave, there could never be proof of his presence there.
