Thomas May Miss Playoffs

Philadelphia defensive tackle Hollis Thomas could sit out the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season, this time because of a dislocated elbow.

Thomas, the Eagles’ best run stopper, was injured in Sunday’s 17-14 victory over the Washington Redskins. He had an MRI exam and will be out three to six weeks.

Tennessee quarterback Steve McNair could sit out the Titans’ final three games because of a bruised sternum that has kept him from playing the last two games.

Coach Jeff Fisher said Tuesday he would talk with McNair in the next few days to decide the immediate future.

Atlanta running back T.J. Duckett is expected to sit out one game after undergoing surgery on his left knee.... San Francisco cornerback Ahmed Plummer was put on injured reserve because of a bulging disk in his neck.
