Person of the Year

Marine Cpl. Ian Stewart, 21, and Marine Cpl. Michael D. Anderson Jr. lost their lives in Iraq last week (obituaries, Dec. 19). As we mourn their deaths, Time magazine has named George W. Bush its Person of the Year (Dec. 20). The criteria for its choice must have been the loss of more than 1,200 troops, thousands more in hospitals, the countless billions spent in assuring that oil will flow in the Bush neocons’ veins, and other monstrous decisions. Time chose well! Mediocrity and greed rule this country.
