Officers Did Their Jobs at Crystal Cathedral

Share

I was saddened to read the Dec. 22 letter by Allen P. Wilkinson regarding music director Johnnie Carl’s unfortunate death. As a wife of a Garden Grove officer and a close friend of police Lt. Mike Handfield, I know the police did not force his hand. They were patient; they did not storm him and there was a mental health professional available.

I get very upset at the way people bash police officers and the way they handle their very difficult tasks. Based on what I hear and what I see when my husband comes home from work, I dare anyone to do what they do and see what they see and be expected to be normal. Not every case turns out the way we would like, but they are there to do their job, and that is exactly what they did.
