Pepperdine Loses by 3

ALBUQUERQUE —
Bobby Dixon had 26 points to help Troy State to a 72-69 victory over Pepperdine in the first round of the Lobo Invitational on Tuesday night.
Pepperdine (8-5) had finished a 10-0 run that tied the score when Dixon made a go-ahead free throw with less than 22 seconds remaining.
Troy State (2-8) will play New Mexico, which defeated Mississippi Valley State, 101-68, in the championship tonight. Pepperdine will play the Delta Devils.
