A businessman has been arrested for allegedly threatening to kill an Orange County Superior Court judge who had sentenced him to probation and psychiatric treatment in 2003, officials said Thursday.

Ronald Irving Brindle, 67, was being held without bail at Orange County Jail after he allegedly called police on Dec. 20 and said he would kill Judge Thomas Borris, an 11-year veteran at Westminster court, officials said.

Borris had sentenced Brindle in January 2003 after his conviction on two misdemeanor counts of false imprisonment.
