A darker view of vacationing on Curacao

Share

Craig Nakano is crazy to come out with a complimentary article on Curacao [“Curacao: A Microcosm That Works,” Jan. 18]. Except in a few pay-only beaches, we found huge parts of the island covered in trash and pollution. Dead goats and starving dogs lined the highways. Street signs are almost unreadable, and the place is drowning in poverty. Our condominium was bordered by burned and trashed cars, burned buildings and trashed lots.

How dare you send unsuspecting tourists to a place that you compare to Hawaii. The difference is night and day. We found our visit to Curacao so bad that we passed on most of our two-week vacation.
