Time spent with an ‘original’

I read My Favorite Weekend almost every Thursday and am usually struck by how unimaginative most contributors’ choices are. Then over the horizon comes bright and charming Zooey Deschanel, devouring old movies, searching vintage clothing shops for the perfect Audrey Hepburn coat, accumulating such a collection that she needs rolling racks to store them all -- a unique person and a girl after my own heart (“Old Movies, Coats Just Make Her Day,” Jan. 22).

I couldn’t believe that someone found it necessary to write in last week complaining about how boring they felt Zooey’s weekend was!

Take heart, Zooey, you keep doing exactly what makes you happy. You’re an original among the clones!
